Mama’s Meatloaf

Greg loves his mother’s meatloaf, so Laila teaches Toi and Greg a quick and delicious meatloaf recipe.

Ingredients
2½ pounds ground beef
1 large egg
3 tablespoons half-and-half
2 teaspoons horseradish
1 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon mustard
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon minced garlic
½ cup finely diced celery
½ cup finely diced onion
½ cup finely diced green pepper
1½ cups plain breadcrumbs

Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F
  2. Spray your hands with vegetable cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, half-and-half, the egg and the seasonings, and use your hands to mix well
  3. Add the rest of your ingredients and mix very well
  4. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on a baking pan sprayed with vegetable cooking spray. Either shape the top of the loaf into a dome or flatten it with your hands. Spread ketchup on top
  5. Bake for about 45 minutes or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160 F at its center, at the thickest part. Allow it to cool slightly before slicing and serving
