Mosaic Kitchen Table

Materials
Nightstand
Sanding paper or sander
Spray Primer
Paint, color of your choice
Paintbrush
Figure 8 fasteners*
Screwdriver
Screws
Solid-core two-panel door**
4-5 tiles
Hammer
Quick-drying epoxy
Tempered glass sheet, 3x3’***
4 rubber furniture feet, clear

*Tip: Because of the double-loop shape, figure 8 fasteners allow you to secure something with screws from both sides.

**Tip: Find deals on doors at your local flea market or thrift store—some cost as little as $5. Then visit your local home improvement store and ask them to cut it to your desired size. A 3x3’ table is perfect for nearly every kitchen, big or small.

***Tip: Look for tempered glass at your local home improvement store. While you’re there, ask them to sand the edges and round the corners.

Instructions
    1. Remove the drawers from the nightstand. Sand drawers and nightstand down to the original layer, then apply a layer of spray primer and let dry.
    2. Paint the drawers and nightstand. Let dry completely, then put the drawers back in.
    3. Attach figure 8 fasteners to the top of the nightstand, at least 2 per side. Screw down one loop per fastener, letting the other hang off the edges.
    4. Screw the tabletop to the nightstand. From underneath the tabletop, attach screws into the loops hanging off the edges.
    5. With a hammer, carefully break the tile into smaller pieces. Decoratively arrange the pieces inside the panel. Once you’re happy with your mosaic pattern, pour epoxy over the entire area to seal. Let dry completely.
    6. To keep the glass from sliding, secure rubber feet to each corner of the table, then lay the tempered glass on top.
