apr05 bridal image2 Invitations
Decorate your party invitations with clean-themed adornments, such as a collage made with pictures of cleaning supplies. Be as creative as you want—the more imaginative you are, the more obvious your party's theme will be. And to get the ball rolling, put these suggestions for shower gifting inside the invitation:
bullet image Laundry gift pack. Stock a hamper full of clothes-cleaning necessities, such as detergent, fabric softener, Febreze® Fabric Refresher with Clenzaire™, dryer sheets, a stain stick, and a drying rack.
bullet image
Kitchen staples set. Fill a dishwashing tub with a bevy of kitchen-cleaning basics, including dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, rinse aid, and an electronic dish brush.
bullet image All-purpose cleaning kit. Package miscellaneous cleaning essentials, such as dusting tools and sweeping gear, in a garbage can.

Decorations
With a clean theme in the works, you'll want to keep your party decorations pristine. Stick to lots of white—from balloons to tablecloths. Your guests will feel like they stepped into a squeaky clean setting.

For an eye-catching centerpiece, put a towel cake on display. If you don't have time to assemble one yourself, ready-made towel cakes can be purchased relatively inexpensively. After the shower, let the bride-to-be take this crafty centerpiece home with her.

For a novelty decoration, try filling clear salt and pepper shakers with colored candies that match your décor.

Games
Every good bridal shower offers “game time,” a chance for the guests to loosen up, get to know one another, and, most importantly—have fun! Gear your games toward your clean theme with these suggestions:
bullet image Spot-On Pricing. Guests are shown a product and have to guess the correct price. The guest who guesses the closest price without going over wins a prize. (Note: To maintain your clean theme, use only cleaning products.)
bullet image Memory Madness. Set up a tray with various cleaning products and cover with an opaque lid. Remove the lid for 30 seconds to give the guests a chance to review all of the products. Replace the lid and ask guests to write down as many products as they can remember. The guest who can correctly recall the most products wins.
bullet image Chore Match-up. Before the party, ask the bride-to-be to make a list ranking all of her typical household chores, from most favorite to least favorite. During the shower, ask guests to list and rank their chores as well. The guest whose list most closely matches the bride's earns a prize.

apr05 bridal image4 Party Favors
Make sure your game prizes reflect your clean theme. Here are some ideas for party favors that can double as helpful cleaning and organizing tools:
bullet image Spoon rest. Keep counters and stovetops clean with this helpful kitchen accessory.
bullet image Shower caddy. This handy item fits right over most shower heads, conveniently storing all shower items in one space-saving place.
bullet image Decorative basket. This decorative element doubles as a great storage space for miscellaneous items, such as magazines or newspapers (while cutting down on clutter). You can even use it to store all of your party favors, giving it away as the last prize of the shower.

Towel Cake Instructions
To create a “clean theme” towel cake, follow these simple instructions.

Materials:
2 white bath towels
2 white hand towels
2 white washcloths
Large safety pins

Instructions:
1. Fold each bath towel in half lengthwise, twice. Connect the folded towels end to end with large safety pins.
2. Start at one end and roll the towels up, securing the end with another large safety pin.
3. Repeat these steps for the hand towels and washcloths, and stack your “cake” with bath towels on the bottom, hand towels in the middle, and washcloths on top. Secure all three layers with large safety pins.
4. Decorate cake with various cleaning supplies—from bottles of dishwashing liquid to floor cleaner—being as creative as you'd like. We suggest using miniature bottles of dishwashing liquid as your “bride” and “groom” figures at the top of your cake.

p shower planning Baby Shower Suggestions
You can get creative and try variations of this project for different occasions. For instance, you can create a diaper “cake” for a baby shower by rolling up diapers, tying them with ribbon and then stacking them in tiers.

Use the instructions below to create this unique baby shower decoration that is filled with fun and useful gifts. You can get all of these materials at a local baby supplies and craft stores.

MATERIALS
60 disposable diapers (number depends on
how big you make it)
Ribbon, 1/2”-1” wide, patterned to fit the baby shower theme. (Pink, blue, or yellow are good choices.)
Ribbon, 1/4” to tie rolled diapers with
Clear tape or fishing line
Cardboard or plastic cake platter
Cake decorations (baby confetti, baby sock roses, artificial roses, etc.)
Baby items (pacifiers, bottles, lotion, bibs, receiving blankets, small stuffed animals, baby towels, onesies, wash cloths, baby hygiene products, toys, etc.)

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Unfold 17 diapers and, one at a time, roll each up tight, starting from the front of the diaper and rolling it to the back, the tighter the better. Place a clear tape or fishing line around the center after you roll each diaper up to hold it tight. These are the inner diapers for the cake.
  2. Take the cake platter and place a rolled diaper in the middle then place about 5-6 diapers around the center one and secure the layer with a ribbon.
  3. Next, form a 2nd ring with the remaining 11-12 diapers by placing them around the 1st ring of diapers. Complete it by placing a large ribbon around the 2nd ring.
  4. Now for the final ring of diapers for the 1st tier: Take 18-20 diapers, unfold each one, roll them up tight like before, but instead of tape or fishing line around each one, tie a thin, 1/4” piece of ribbon around the middle around each one.
  5. Then place them around the second ring to form a 3rd ring. Now take a large, 1/2”-1” wide ribbon and tie it around the entire tier to hold them all together in a circle shape.
Get creative and use your “cake decorations” and various baby items to adorn each layer of the diaper cake.
