Party, wedding or dinner for two, charming guests is simple; just create a gorgeous centerpiece. From the sweet to the natural, these 4 romantic looks come straight from the heart.

Rules for Romantic Centerpieces

  • Pick a cute container. Go beyond the vase with oversized glass containers like compotes, cookie jars and trifle dishes. Or take the opposite approach, proudly displaying your decorations under bell jars or cloches—bell-shaped glass domes.

Quick Tip

Dawn The number one rule of romantic centerpieces: Sparkling vessels. Before you get to work building your arrangement, hand wash containers with Dawn® Direct Foam™. The pump bottle turns the liquid into powerful foam that absorbs, breaks down and removes grease.

  • Let flowers do the talking. For truly heartfelt displays, compose a message in the Language of Flowers. From dinner for two to weddings for hundreds, there’s a flower that speaks to the occasion. Like lavender roses for enchantment, pink rosebuds for happiness and tulips for elegant love.
  • Add personal touches. Thoughtful little details, like homemade conversation hearts, hit that final romantic note. Try wrapping bud vases in love letters and tucking heirloom brooches into bouquets, too.

4 Looks to Try

Creative Centerpieces: Romantic

  1. Sweet Tooth: An arrangement almost too cute to eat—oversized glassware brimming with pink, white and red candies. Bring on the sugar rush with festive-hued gumdrops, jellybeans, licorice chews, rock candy, gumballs, chocolate candies, butter mints, yogurt raisins and other candy.

Tip: Achieve the same sweet effect with a cake stand. Fill the tiers with heaps of packaged candies—saltwater taffy, foil-wrapped chocolate drops, cinnamon discs.

  1. Pretty in Pink: Fresh-cut flowers in the prettiest shades of pink add the sweetest dose of color to the table. Tuck our Made You Blush bouquet in a pale blue vase, and you’ve got a centerpiece that sings vintage romance. For added charm, nestle paper butterflies and tufts of pastel netting between the blooms.
  1. Sealed with a Kiss: A tradition dating back to Victorian times, kissing balls are said to bring goodwill and romance. Make your own by hot gluing felt flowers or dried rosebuds to a foam ball, or spray the ball with adhesive and roll in dried lavender buds. Showcase single kissing balls, or trios of them, under bell jars or cloches.
  1. Rooted in Love: Stunning and resourceful. Just collect and clean fallen branches, then paint them white. Arrange them in a clear container, pouring cinnamon candies in the bottom to prevent toppling. Finish by hanging salt dough conversation hearts—charming ornaments made from pantry staples.
