In a perfect world, your family could sit down each night to a delicious and nutritious gourmet dinner. Unfortunately, long days can make dinnertime seem more like crunch time. Here are some helpful ideas to help you whip up meals in no time, using items you probably already have in your kitchen. And soon enough, dinnertime will become a special time for fun, food, and family.

Pasta

Dinner doesn't get much easier or faster than pasta. Fresh pasta cooks in less than five minutes, while dried pasta can take less than ten. Try tossing cooked spaghetti noodles with olive oil, diced tomatoes, fresh basil, and shredded Parmesan cheese. The hot pasta warms the oil and tomatoes to create a delicious sauce. Add a salad, and you've got a complete meal. Is pasta salad more your style? Try cooking rotini noodles and then chilling them in the refrigerator. Once the pasta has cooled, toss with fresh vegetables and your favorite salad dressing.
