    Our rustic, easy-to-make take on the trifle features all the flavors of old-fashioned apple pie. Layered in a glass dish, it might just be too pretty to eat!

Apple Pie Trifle
Makes 1 trifle Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 6 minutes

INGREDIENTS
    1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter
    8 apples, peeled, cored and sliced into 1/2” pieces
    1 cup brown sugar
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1/2 lemon, juiced
    2 tablespoons cinnamon, separated
    1 1/2 pounds gingersnaps, crumbled
    2 tubs store-bought whipped cream
INSTRUCTIONS
    In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add apples, brown sugar, flour, lemon juice and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Stir to combine, then cook for six minutes. Set aside to cool.
    Spoon one layer of the apple mixture into a trifle dish. Add a layer of crumbled gingersnaps, then a layer of whipped cream. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
    Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream, sprinkle with remaining cinnamon and crumbled gingersnaps, then serve.
