    Whether displayed as a centerpiece or tucked away on a corner table, this handcrafted water fountain is a soothing and sparkling addition to any space. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to create your own using well-priced planters and glistening sea glass.

Materials
1 pound sea glass, color(s) of your choice
Shallow dish filled with soapy water, for cleaning glass
3 planters*
Drill, optional
1’ rubber tubing
Small fountain pump (available at garden centers, hardware stores and online)
Scissors

*Tip: To create this fountain, you’ll need three planters: one large and shallow, one medium and shallow, and one small, deeper dish to cover the pump. If possible, choose medium and small planters with pre-drilled drainage holes.

Instructions
    1. Soak sea glass in a tray of soapy water until clean. If necessary, drill holes in the bottom of the 2 smallest planters. Be sure they are big enough to slide the tubing through.
    2. Attach the rubber tubing to the pump. Set the pump in the bottom of the large shallow planter, then thread the rubber tubing through the small planter—insert it from the inside, then pull it out through the bottom so that the planter is positioned upside down and covers the pump. Arrange some of the sea glass in this bottom dish.
    3. Position the medium planter on top of the small planter, then thread the rubber tubing from the bottom and pull it out through the inside of the planter. Add remaining sea glass to this top dish, then use scissors to trim the tubing.
    4. Fill the base of the planter with water, then plug it in and adjust the speed of the stream as needed.
