A clean and organized bathroom is a stress-free way to enter a hectic season, so roll up your sleeves and wipe away the built-up grime and hidden dirt. Once you’re finished tackling the six essential areas, your bathroom will shine from top-to-bottom.

Total Bathroom Clean Out

  1. Cabinets and Drawers: Cleaning the bathroom isn’t just about disinfecting. It’s about organizing and tackling clutter as well. Your cabinets and drawers probably have old bottles, expired medicine and general dust collection, so check out our Total Drawer Clean Out tips for a two-step approach to organization and our Organized Bathroom Ideas for ways to make the bathroom more functional and comfortable.
  1. Mirrors: After you’ve sorted out the medicine cabinet and cleaned the inside, close the door and check out the mirrors. Toothpaste splatters, water stains and foggy streaks take the shine out of your reflection. Spray and wipe them away to reveal sparkling surfaces again.
  1. Toilet: Germs beware! Pour a capful of cleaner into the toilet bowl. Using a toilet brush, scrub the inside of the bowl and use a paper towel dampened with hot water and a dash of cleaner to wipe the outside of the bowl, seat, lid and toilet tank. Set a Febreze® Set & Refresh air freshener on the back of the toilet tank for 30 days of freshness.

  1. Shower: The shower is where soap scum can hang out. Start by removing all the toiletries and accessories out of the shower. Begin scrubbing at the shower head and move your way down to the tub with the Mr. Clean® Magic Eraser® Bath Scrubber. And for more ways to maintain your clean shower, check out our Shower Cleaning Tips.
  1. Sink: The most trafficked spot in the bathroom is bound to be splattered and in need of a good scrubbing. Pull everything off the counter and set aside. Wipe all surfaces, including the faucet, sink bowl and cabinet doors or sink pedestal. Rinse the toothbrush holder and soap dish in the sink with hot water. Rinse thoroughly and replace everything back on the counters.

Quick Tip

  1. Floor: Pull rugs, bathmats and the trashcan out of the bathroom so you can be sure to clean every nook and cranny of your floor. Trap and lock loose dirt and hair with Swiffer® Sweeper™, and finish with the Swiffer WetJet™. Its solution is designed to penetrate layers of dirt and grime while locking it deep in the WetJet pad. Plus, its scrubbing strip powers through dried on messes.

Tip: While you’re cleaning, why not throw the shower curtain, bathmats and bathroom area rugs into the washer for an extra thorough cleaning?

Tip: Now that your bathroom is in tip-top shape, keep it in prime condition and lessen cleaning time later by checking our Weekly Bathroom Cleaning Checklist. Also, make sure bathroom essentials – tissues, toilet paper and cotton swabs – are fully stocked.
