    If your calendar is filled with holiday parties and you prefer fun drinks without the alcohol or if you’re the designated driver, we’ve got lots of alternative drink recipes to keep you entertained.

If you're like most people, your calendar is quickly being filled with holiday parties. And if you prefer fun drinks that don't contain alcohol, or if you're a designated driver, here are some delicious non-alcoholic alternatives.


  Non-Alcoholic Holiday
  Punch

  Citrus Sipper

Combine 170 grams (6 ounces) frozen lemonade concentrate (thawed), 170 grams (6 ounces) frozen orange juice concentrate (thawed), 1,500 mL (6 cups) water, and 125 mL (1/2 cup) grenadine syrup in a punch bowl. Just before serving, add ice cubes and gently stir in 1 liter (1 quart) chilled ginger ale. Put a lemon slice and a cherry in each punch cup and serve. Serves approximately 30.


In a large glass, stir together 5 mL (1 teaspoon) powdered sugar and a dash of bitters. Add ice. Stir in 250 mL (1 cup) orange-flavored mineral water. Serves 1.

  Virgin Bloody Mary

  The Other Collins

In a cocktail shaker, combine ice cubes, 75 mL (1/3 cup) chilled tomato juice, 2 mL (1 teaspoon) lime juice, 50 mL (1/4 teaspoon) Worcestershire sauce, dash celery salt, and a dash pepper or bottled hot pepper sauce. Shake well to mix. Pour into a chilled glass; add ice cubes, if desired. Garnish with a celery stalk.


In a tall glass, stir together 30 mL (2 tablespoons) lemon juice, 10 mL (2 teaspoons) sugar, and 2 mL (1/2 teaspoon) rum flavoring. Add ice cubes. Pour 175 mL (3/4 cup) chilled carbonated water down the side of the glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice. Serves 1.


  Mock Amaretto Sour

  Lime & Tonic

In a cocktail shaker, combine ice cubes, 125 mL (1/2 cup) ginger ale, 30 mL (2 tablespoons) lemon or lime juice, and 2 mL (1/2 teaspoon) almond extract. Cover and shake well. Strain into a chilled glass. Pour 50 mL (1/4 cup) chilled grapefruit carbonated beverage down side of glass and stir. Add ice cubes. Serves 1.


Place ice cubes in a tall glass. Add 30 mL (2 teaspoons) lime juice. Pour 250 mL (1 cup) chilled tonic water down side of glass. Stir gently with an up-and-down motion to mix. Serves 1.


  Snow White Russian

  Sunrise Sipper

In a cocktail glass, combine 50 mL (1/4 cup) cooled strong coffee, 15 mL (1 tablespoon) powdered sugar, and 5 mL (1 teaspoon) vanilla. Stir until sugar dissolves. Stir in 50 mL (1/4 cup) half-and-half or light cream. Add ice. Serves 1.

Place crushed ice in a tall glass. Stir together 50 mL (1/4 cup) carbonated water, 50 mL (1/4 cup) orange juice, and 5 mL (1 teaspoon) lime juice. Pour over ice in glass. Pour in 10 mL (2 teaspoons) grenadine syrup. Stir before serving. Serves 1.
