    Whether it’s the armoire in your dining room or the desk in your office, give its cabinet doors and drawers an easy, Moroccan-inspired update. Start with a fresh coat of paint, then add bursts of texture and color with unexpected materials like embossed wallpaper and lace.

Materials

Embossed wallpaper
Acrylic paint, color(s) of your choice
Paintbrushes
Scissors
Craft glue
Craft rhinestones
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks
Decorative trim
Decorative doorknobs

Drawer Fronts
Acrylic paint, color(s) of your choice
Blue painter’s tape
Lace
Stencil brush
Paper towels
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks
Decorative trim
Craft rhinestones

Instructions
Cabinet Doors
  1. Paint embossed wallpaper and cut into desired shape. Simplify the process by cutting along the natural lines of the wallpaper.
  2. Squeeze craft glue into a small bowl. With a paintbrush, evenly apply glue to the back of the wallpaper, being sure to coat the edges. Apply wallpaper to cabinet and smooth out any bubbles.
  3. Use hot glue to embellish wallpaper with rhinestones.
  4. Working one section at a time, hot glue the decorative trim around the cabinet face.
  5. Attach decorative doorknobs, then re-attach doors to your cabinet.
Drawer Fronts
  1. Remove knobs.
  2. Squeeze paint into a small bowl. With painter’s tape, temporarily adhere lace to the drawer in desired pattern.
  3. Dip stencil brush into paint and blot excess onto a paper towel. Paint over the lace, making quick, dabbing motions. Let dry completely, then remove painter’s tape and lace.
  4. Embellish drawer by hot gluing decorative trim and rhinestones as desired, then re-attach knobs.
