Whether you want to add a big kick to mashed potatoes or gently spice spinach strata, there’s a seasoning for you. Discover 5 spicy ingredients you’ll love, plus get dishwashing tips from Ultra Gain® dish liquid.

    1. Cayenne Pepper: Made by grinding the seeds and pods of dried chili peppers, Cayenne is a fiery-hot and rusty-red spice. From soups and stews to cookies and cocoa, it adds big flavor and color to almost any dish. It’s pungent, so use it sparingly—try sprinkling a pinch over scrambled or fried eggs, or add a dash to our sweet and spicy Chocolate Pepper Crackle Cookies.

Tip: Cooking with spicy ingredients means a kitchen full of rich, complex aromas. After you’ve enjoyed your meal, keep the scent experience going by hand washing your pots and pans with Ultra Gain dish liquid. Choose from a variety of fresh scents, like the cool, crisp and classic Original scent your sniffer knows and loves.

    2. Horseradish: Virtually unscented when first picked, horseradish root releases potent mustard oils as soon as it’s ground or grated. Handling it can be dangerous, so we opt for prepared horseradish—a creamy beige-colored blend of vinegar and grated horseradish that has big bite. Spread it on sandwiches or burgers, whip it into mashed potatoes or try it in our Herb Crusted Prime Rib with Horseradish Cream.

    3. Jalapeño: With their spicy-sweet skin and flaming hot seeds, jalapeño peppers pack a lot of punch. Their burning heat is concentrated in the seeds; for a milder taste, carefully remove them before use. For bright, fresh flavor, add diced jalapeños to salsa, guacamole and other dips, or blend them with sharp cheese in our Jalapeño Corn Cheddar Muffins.

Tip: Make everyday cooking clean-up more fun by hand washing dinnerware with Ultra Gain dish liquid. Try invigorating scents like Apple Mango Tango—it’s specially formulated to release aroma when the soap hits the water.

    4. Chipotle Pepper: Fully ripened and dried jalapeños, chipotle peppers have an earthy, smoky-sweet flavor. We love canned chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce—a Spanish blend of stewed tomatoes, vinegar, and seasoning. Use these plump, sauce-soaked peppers to give black beans a quick kick, or pair them with tart cherries in our Shredded Chicken Sliders with Cherry Chipotle Barbecue Sauce.

    5. Hot Sauce: To add just the right amount of heat to any dish, reach for the hot sauce. From mild vinegar-based blends to chunky Thai-inspired Sriracha sauces, there’s a flavor for everyone. Set a bottle by the salt and pepper shakers so family and friends can spice their food to taste, or add a splash to our Spinach & Cheese Strata or Warm Crab & Cheese Dip.
Tip: When spicy ingredients overwhelm your senses, make them smile again with Ultra Gain dish liquid. Try the soothing Lavender scent—as you hand wash dishes, it surrounds you with the sweet scent of spring.
