This adorable and easy craft is a wonderful way to build anticipation for the coming of spring. Using recycled neckties in spring colors and patterns, and decorative details such as mini pompoms and wiggly eyes, you and the kids can create a great wall or door hanging. Also, if you stitch the ends closed, you could put some little candies in here for a sweet and whimsical treat.
Needed supplies: • 2 men's ties• Glue• 1 small pink pompom• 1 cotton ball• Buttons, scrap felt, or wiggly eyes • Scissors
Time: about 1/2 hourCost: very reasonable, especially with ties purchased on sale or from a thrift store and the rest of the items from a scrap box. 1. Cut the tie to measure about 1 foot starting at the wide end. Use the narrow end of the tie for the bunny's one ear, which you would cut about 2 inches long. 2. Use the second men's tie to cut a 2-inch ear as well. Glue the ears in place about 2 inches from the tip of the tie.3. Add eyes using wiggly eyes, felt, or buttons. You can use a small pink pompom for the nose and a cotton ball for the tail. Use your imagination and let kids be creative with this one.
